Front Projection TV
A closer look at the TV projector, screens, and other digital devices.
There’s really no better way of creating your own home theater, than by purchasing a front projection TV. These are basically projectors just like those that you’ll find at any movie theater, that are scaled down and fine tuned for home use. This way, you don’t need a room that’s quite so large, and your ceilings don’t have to be very tall, to still get that great theater look. Really all it takes is the right screen, and projector to ensure that you can achieve fantastic high definition images. For that reason, you’re going to want to consider your front projection TV carefully.
Modern front projection TV models work by using a digital projector that can be hooked up to literally any external device, so that you can watch the images on a movie theater-esque projection screen. All you have to do is find the right type of projector for your home. But first, be sure that you have a large enough room in which to use a projector. It’s important to have a fairly large room for a home theater set up, otherwise you can run into problems from the projector being too close to the screen. For that reason, you want to be sure that you have at least 15 to 20 feet of space between the projector and the screen. But also, you’ll need a ceiling that’s at least 7 to 10 feet high, in order to facilitate hanging the projector itself.
From there, you’ll want to find a high quality projector, as this is really the driving force of your front projection TV. Usually you’re going to want to go with a DLP or LCD projector, as they are the highest quality, and are capable of full high definition images. With one, you can ensure that your front projection TV looks as good as any type of plasma or LCD flat screen television. Although the projector you choose can be a sizeable investment, so you will want to be prepared to incur a fair amount of cost. In some case, you can end up spending over $1,000, but that investment will be well worth the money once you start watching your favorite movies.
But also, don’t take the selection of the screen for your front projection TV too lightly. You want a quality screen that accentuates the vibrancy of your images, so that you can really enjoy every single image to the maximum. But you also want a screen that’s large enough to portray your picture as large as you would like. The problem with some front projection TV screens, is that they can be smaller than you might like, which ruins the point of a home theater entirely. For that reason, you want to measure out the screen you choose carefully, to find one you’ll be perfectly happy with.
You can typically find all the supplies you’ll need for your front projection TV at most electronic stores like Best Buy. But you can also try department stores like Sears, which should be able to provide you with everything you need to set up your home theater. Just remember to consider both the projector you choose, as well as your screen, so that you can combine them to make the ideal front projection TV for your home.
